Carla uses a vibrant color palette in
her newest series of serene female figures done as acrylic paintings, graphite
drawings and monotype prints. The women, clad in their bathing
suits, are ready to take a plunge, but look upon their world in a calm and
reflective manner.
Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Carla
studied book arts and received a M.F.A. with distinction in printmaking in 1983
at the California College of Arts & Crafts (now California College of the
Arts). She has been exhibiting her artwork at the Lafayette Gallery since
2001.
