“Textures, Layers and Lines” is a small group show featuring the works of four
artists: Dalia Alekna, pastel artist and jewelry maker; Paula Boas, abstract
painter; Linda Yoshizawa, printmaker; and potter Martha Kean. The show uses process
and imagery to suggest a history or story beyond just a beautiful piece of art.
Viewing Paula’s paintings feels like a glimpse into her personal journal
or diary. Dalia’s childhood images peek through multiple layers of memories in
her works. Martha gives a nod to the art deco style with texture and lines. And
Linda’s monotypes reveal subtle and compelling metaphors based on her close
observation of nature.
Join us for a free reception to meet and talk with the artists on
October 14 from 5pm to 8pm at the Lafayette Gallery. Refreshments will
be served. A limited selection of works by other Gallery members will also be
displayed.
Gallery hours are 11:00 - 5:00, Tuesday through Saturday.
